How Can You Get Involved in DVYE Today?

Here is one very timely & exciting opportunity…

Our first event of 2009 is scheduled for Sat 5/2.  It is going to be a “Kentucky Derby – Churchill Downs West” Party in the Danville hills, and all tax deductible proceeds will benefit the Wheelchair Foundation. Here are some of the preliminary details of this exciting event:

Home of Sandee Wiedemann - 6500 Highland Road, Pleasanton, CA  94588 (this is actually located in the Danville hills, but in the old days this large parcel of land was zoned for Pleasanton, and the two cities have been fighting over the tax revenue ever since)

Party Starts 1:00 o’ clock - Three o’clock Post Time (times subject to change)

  • Mint Julep and Lunch will be served
  • Special Guest Wineries
  • Kentucky Derby Races
  • Woman’s Hat Contest
  • Raffle & Live Music

Fifty Dollars per Person
or
Seventy-five Dollars at the Door

At this time we are inviting any member who is interested in serving on the committee for this event. Responsibilities include attending weekly conference calls, and maybe one or two in person meetings, and helping with marketing and promoting the event and keeping track of ticket sales.  We are also welcome, but not obligated to help out with the logistical planning of the event.  However this event is already being planned by the Wheelchair Foundation, so there isn’t a whole lot of operational requirements on our part.  We are simply acting as a major sponsor of the event and assisting w/ promoting and marketing the event for a great cause, and to have a lot of fun in the process.

Anyone interested in serving on this committee, please email Don Davis ASAP at ddavis@novusinvestments.com .  For everyone else, please mark your calendar, and we hope to see you there.  Your support, however it may be provided, is always very well appreciated.

DVYE Happy Hour - Join Us Wednesday 10/8/08

October 1st, 2008

Please come join us for Diablo Valley Young Executives Happy Hour at Havana Restaurant – This will be the last DVYE Happy hour of the Year! This event will be your opportunity to get to know the people behind DVYE, share ideas and thoughts for future events and activities, and, of course, blow of some steam mid-work week. This month’s Happy Hour is in the wake of our most recent event: Wine and Equine Festival. Through the combined efforts of our sponsors, members, and friends, DVYE raised over $5,000 in proceeds for the Sunrise Equestrian Foundation. We have now exceeded this year’s goal of raising $20,000 for local charities. We want you to come help us celebrate!

Happy Hour is one of the benefits that come along with being a member – Complementary snacks while rubbing elbows with like-minded young professionals in a casual environment. For those of you who haven’t yet joined DVYE, Happy Hour is offers the chance for you to get to know what DVYE is really about. Members will be there to share their experiences with you, explain how we move as a group to accomplish our goal of raising funds for local charities – and how much fun we have doing it!

October’s Happy Hour Falls on Wednesday the 8th; starting at 6 pm. Havana Restaurant is located on 1516 Bonanza Street in Walnut Creek. Upon entering Havana, we will be in the room directly to the right. Bring yourselves and anyone you know that may be interested in learning more about DVYE. With any further questions around this event, please contact Sara at membership@dvye.org.

Looking forward to seeing everyone there!
