In addition to our monthly Board Meetings and Mixers, DVYE puts together fund-raising / social events to benefit local charities.

Here is a list of past events organized by our group.

2009 Fund-raising / Social Events

–A Simple Supper: Presented by DVYE and our friends at Monument Crisis center,  raised $7700 for MCC at this fun dinner event in Concord on November 12th, consisting of a very simple dinner to demonstrate the simplicity of a bowl of soup with bread and butter.

–2009 DVYE Wine Tasting trip: Raised $1500 for the Walnut Creek Education Foundation in July.

–Wine 4 Wheels – The 7th Annual Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs West: Raised over $5000 for the Wheelchair Foundation on May 2, 2009.

2008 Fund-raising / Social Events

–Wine and Equine, Sunrise Equestrian Foundation Annual Benefit:  Through the combined efforts of our sponsors, members, and friends, DVYE raised over $5,000 in proceeds on September 13th, 2008 for the Sunrise Equestrian Foundation, an organization focused on “Loving children through crisis, and helping horses in need.”

–DVYE Comedy Night:  On July 25th we raised $4000 to benefit Arts Access, the outreach program of the Lesher Center for the Arts through a fabulous comedy night event with professional comedians. Administered by the Diablo Regional Arts Association (DRAA), Arts Access makes the arts accessible to individuals challenged by physical, socio-economic, or geographic barriers.

–Flavors of the World: Raised $11,000 for the Wheelchair Foundation with a fabulous cocktail party for 100 members and their guests at the Blackhawk Auto Museum on May 10th, 2008.

–The Perfect Pair: Raised $4,500 in donations and funds for Wardrobe for Opportunity with a wine tasting party at WineStyles in Walnut Creek on March 26th, 2008.

2007 Fund-raising / Social Events

–DVYE presents Grillin’ in the Grove in the Redwood Grove at SMC for the benefit of Futures Explored, Inc. on August 11th, 2007. 100 people attended the outdoor BBQ with live music, food and family activities. We raised $5000 at this event.

–DVYE presents Wine Tasting in Napa Valley for the benefit of The Wheelchair Foundation April 23rd, 2007. We purchased 7 wheelchairs from the proceeds of this event.

–DVYE presents Bowling Night for the benefit of Monument Crisis Center on April 7th, 2007. 79 people enjoyed a night of bowling and pizza and we raised $2500 for their cause.

2006 Fund-raising / Social Events

–DVYE presents One Warm Coat on December 11th, 2006, Our goal was to collect donations of 50 coats or blankets for the homeless and we ended up collecting over 150 coats and blankets.
